Description

With the adoption of ClusterAPI by the JetStream2, there is now a path forward for managed kubernetes service on OpenStack. The is work that can be considered part of our existing grants: -NSF Project Pythia and Pangeo-Catalyst Project.

It also opens up the ability to manage hubs to NSF funded researchers who have the ability to apply for accounts on JetStream2.OpenStack more generally is used by the Digital Research Alliance of Canada.

Please review the insights in the Product Board initiative

Tasks

  • Knowledge building up around ClusterAPI- Develop Terraform backend for deploying kubernetes to ClusterAPI
  • Deploy to JetStream2 as part of the Project Pythia project- Deploy to local OpenStack install as part of Catalyst Project (Alejandro)

Definition of Done

  • 2i2c infrastructure can reliably deployed to OpenStack with ClusterAPI and it is offered to set of standard hub services.
