Moncic-CI has interesting functionalities to build source packages from git repositories.
In theory, the use of containers is only needed to build on a differfent system than the local one, and to avoid cluttering the local system with build dependencies. When those are not needed, the rest of the functions of Moncic-CI are still useful.
There could be a containerless mode of Moncic-CI, that checks that the local system can build the package, to be run inside an existing container (for example a gitlab runnner), where Moncic-CI would become a tool to point at a git checkout or a git url, and produce packages
