Provide a way to fine tune a found ECM based on some heuristic rules

Once an ECM is found, we can further fine tune it by applying some heuristic rules, e.g., if the posterior of a component is ~flat, it implies redundancy (can be removed), etc. This requires carefully crafting a set of heuristics, we should include Robert Black in the conversation.
