When re-imaging or scaling a VM scale set, the extensions get re-applied, which is expected. There are times, though, when reapplying an extension will fail if run more than once on a machine - joining an Active Directory domain is one - the extension fails because the computer is already a part of the domain. The VM scale set then shows a "Failed" status, which cannot be cleared. Reapplying extensions certainly won't help.
Is there a way for the administrator of the resource to clear the Failed state for a benign issue like this?
