Pick off beam and use photodiode + scope to determine laser power. Students could even generate the calibration table. This will streamline imaging.

Have the main frame and periscope already built
Pre-assemble the beam expander. Students just add lenses and align. More info on alignment in handout.
Figure out the best collection path design for each PMT and objective combination. Ensure the correct lenses are available for this.
Decide if we can use the 16x, given the large back aperture. Should we use the 60x NA=1.0, WD 2.5 mm instead? It has a tiny back aperture and should yield really nice images, even if FOV is small.
