It'd be great if the scroll speed was proportional to the value of the analog Trigger of a gamepad or over variable input device. This is how it's done in the Broadcast industry and other professional applications. (with dedicated (and expensive) controllers of course instead of gamepads, but still)
So that if the Trigger isn't pressed at all nothing moves and if it's fully depressed it scrolls at a maximum speed set previosly

We have plans for adding keyboard shortcuts that will allow you to jump to a specific velocity. That would enable users to map the values of their analogue inputs to different velocities.
Direct support for specific devices will only be possible if the community steps up and contributes the hardware and development time needed to add this support. If you can't contribute development time yourself, there's always the option to hire a developer to work on this. That developer doesn't have to be me.
@videosmith Could be. I'd like to see how MIDI devices use this for non-musical purposes. So we're able to provide an implementation that is compatible with most devices.
There's a separate ticket already open for MIDI support, it's #255.
