Some feedback from my usage over version 0.53 (working with the mindset of an end user)

INSTALLATION

  • No more scary data is collected. The extension just wants to access the actual site. That's fine by me (and very common with the other extensions I have)

USAGE

  • If a paragraph is larger than the current viewport it is never detected, if there is another small one present. First, this was annoying, I tried to change the assignment with mouse over. However, when I found out that I just had to click I found this very usable. I now have the possibility to explicitly state what I am focussing on (in case the automatic detection is wrong)
  • Especially for long paragraphs I sometimes do not see where the keywords in the bottom come from. I tried to move the mouse over the keyword, hoping they might be highlighted, but this did not work. I think I would trust the keyword extraction more if it would tell me where the words came from, especially in the cases when they make no really sense for me.
  • If a paragraph is not detected at all, I have no chance of making it active (happened in the wikipedia reference section). Paragraph switch and detection works flawless mostly and I really like it, but this annoyed my a bit. The paragraphs seemed obvious to me.
  • What is supposed to happen when I click on a keyword (but not on the "close" part of the keyword)? Couldn't figure that out. The keywords kind of gets visually inactive, but I don't know what else..

DESIGN

  • I don't like the orange "xxx results". Everything else is grey, the orange is just wrong there.
  • The animated logo is nice, but it could be nicer. I would prefer a more circular shape.
  • The font size in the bottom bar is larger than the fonts I use to read web pages. That makes it a little bit too much in the foreground.
  • I like the grey decent colours of the bar in general
  • The search result list is not nice. The colours are too intimidating. The interactions are fun, but the design is not.
