Era video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1HJKWVekWc

During the ENM Pulling the Strings when resummoning my avatar it immediately ran off and engaged the moblin who I didn't engage at the beginning. Was able to take out Fantoccini still, but the moblin killed me soon after Fantoccini and it's avatar despawned, and didn't get the win. The era video shows the avatar only going after one of the two, either Fantoccini or the avatar, who are aggroed to the summoner, and also only when they are within range.

Tried this again today, my plan was to use retreat when I resummoned my pet, but it ignored retreat twice and still engaged the moblin.
