Snail use to run in a native macos app using wkwebview. This app was removed 32da583 because it was unmaintained. But the app had a lot of nicer things over the electron version like proper menus and translucent windows.

I seem to remember fighting wkwebview a lot. Maybe the native app should be based on Chromium Embedded Framework.
