This is unmaintained for a long time and development for this particular project has been discontined as a core developer effort for KiCad. A community project has been started by Alexander Tait as a stop gap measure until we will hopefully get better python support in some KiCad version after v6.

Development of a new Python scripting API for KiCad based on Piers Titus van der Torren work and comunity feedback to create a less C++ tied API.
A second intention of this new API is also to provide better documentation via sphinx.
