This issue is to:

  1. discuss whether these roles estimated for the grant proposal still make sense moving forward, before we open up involvement to the broader public
  2. express interest in an area that you'd like to contribute to

Detailed roles

Educators

Pre-event educational content development for each of 5 modules:

  • 2 hour researching topic
  • 2 hours developing written tutorial
  • 1 hour developing video tutorial
  • 1 hour reviewing written content for accessibility and editing video captions

Total of 10 educators, 2 per each module

  • MiR members from marginalized races, genders, and the disabled community, with a particular emphasis on members of the disabled community
  • Liz Hare

  • Laurie Baker? (Would like to offer this role to others first. Happy to fill in as a back up).

Analysts

Post-event data analysis

  • 1 hour scraping tweets
  • 1 hour annotating tweets according to accessibility practice
  • 1 hours classifying tweets
  • 3 hours evaluating success of accessibility implementation
  • 1 hour summarizing results
  • 1 hour compiling report and making it accessible publicly

  • Liz Hare

Event organizers

  • Coordinating with Tom Mock and the R4DS Learning Community to prepare TidyTuesday README page for the event
  • Preparing tweets for each day/module
  • Retweeting participant submissions
  • Monitoring MiR Twitter and e-mail accounts for Code of Conduct violations
  • Internal accessibility review for all educational materials and event content
