UPDATE: Upgrade Path
It's looking like the path forward will be to upgrade in two large steps (18.2.1 to 18.5.1 and then 18.5.1 to 20.0.x)
We discussed this earlier during planning. Here are some of the details about that process.
Here is the overview for the first of the steps

• Upgrade Cumulus from 18.2.0 to 18.5.0 (not 18.5.1) (There is a large bit of release notes between these versions to account for)
  • Upgrade from 18.2.0 to 18.3.3 first
  • Then Upgrade from 18.3.3 to 18.4.0 (including Manual DB Changes Steps)
  • Then Upgrade from 18.4.0 to 18.5.0 (Including Aurora Serverless Change from v1 to v2)
  • Do the Cumulus Upgrade on Sandbox, then UAT, then PROD
• Upgrade Orca from 9.0.5 to 10.0.1
  • Note: ORCA 10.0.0 and above (including 10.1.0) is only compatible with Cumulus 18.5.0 and above.
  • This may require an intermediate step of upgrading to Orca 10.0.1 and then 10.1.0
  • Do the Orca Upgrade on Sandbox, then UAT, then PROD
• Future PI (next PI) Upgrade from 18.5.1 to 20.0.x
