I agree it sounds useful, someone created a PR to do this in 2016:

You could also check out a working BIP38 encoder/decoder at bitaddress.org

@OutCast3k I thought the encrypted WIF key in coinbin would be like the BIP38 format produced in bitaddress.org, i.e. starting with "6P". Instead they're starting with "U2FsdGVkX1" for any new bitcoin address generated / any password used. Is this an issue, or have I misunderstood?

Hi can someone ask this for me: is there anyway to proof bitcoin ownership by signing a message to ur public key on coinb.

Different from a transaction ownership. Just wanna proof that I own a public address with a message.

This feature is on blockchain/electrum
