ASDF is now available in SPECFEM3D_GLOBE thanks to @Jas11. There should be a release to make this easier to make a stable installation. Is there a list of items necessarily blocking a release from occurring at this time? Currently, there is one of which I am aware:

  • Install pkg-config/cmake files for dependent libraries (which I'm working on.)

Hey guys!

Very cool :-)

I'm not fully up-to-date with the developments of ASDF in specfem. Can someone send me an output ASDF file from SPECFEM_GLOBE as well as an input file containing adjoint sources (if thats already implemented). Please only if that no effort for you - otherwise I can also do it myself.

Thanks!

I've attached a very small asdf output file from SPECFEM3D_GLOBE. Can you have a look Lion and let me know if pyasdf has any problems? The traces are only 0.1 minutes. I can make a realistic example later today and put it on dropbox or the clover server.

The reader isn't ready for a release. I'm still using the asdf_example.h5 for the adjoint sources, but I have still got some issues with reading in SPECFEM3D_GLOBE. I have some other obligations this week, but I hope to get this done by beginning of next week or so.

Wenjie is trying out the writer on Titan now and his feedback will be useful for me before we are ready for a stable release.
