Referencing another field for conditional discriminant

Not sure if this is already a feature, but I am trying to create a conditional field which acts based on another field in the schema. However, I want both fields to be saved and on the same level...

An example of how this could look is below:

  thumbnail: fields.conditional("category", {
    portfolio: fields.image({
