PdfUtils has its own image loader routines using JAI and a fix for Transkribus/TranskribusSwtGui#154 will require respective changes here, either by enhancing the image loader in PdfUtils or using ImageUtils from Transkribus/TranskribusInterfaces instead, where a fix will be done anyway (https://github.com/Transkribus/TranskribusAppServerModules/issues/48).
