When has Bulma become so large in filesize?

I recently thought about updating from Bulma 0.9.4 to 1.0.2 after a year or so, but somehow it (the minified CSS part) a) has gotten three times bigger and b) is not looking better. Is this a good development? Do I still want to update and if so how? Or is it time to look for a more lightweight alternative that is maybe even easier to use or looks better?
