This AVA has the following revisions:

[T.D. ATF–142, 48 FR 37368, Aug. 18, 1983, as amended by T.D. ATF–249, 52 FR 5956, Feb. 27, 1987]

Each revision should be represented by a polygon inside the .geojson file for this AVA. See the Historical Boundary Methods document for more information on how to add historical boundaries.

This ava contains the 1st and 3rd revision but not this 2nd one. https://www.federalregister.gov/citation/52-FR-5956 According to the documentation, there are changes in step 5 & 6.

See #598 and #709.

Amendments are published for many reasons. I would suggest that anytime there's a change to any of the text captured by this dataset that a new feature is added to reflect the amendment, even if there are no changes to the physical boundaries. The text changed, therefore the data changed.

Clarification (the text in the parenthesis below) was added to steps 5 and 6.

(5) Then following that contour line generally northwestward to Carneros Creek (on the Sonoma Quadrangle map).
(6) Then following the same contour line generally southeastward to the range line R. 5 W/R. 4 W (on the Napa Quadrangle map).
