What

To give users the ability to scroll through through a list of checkbox filters. This includes:

• a scrollable list within each filter category, so multiple checkboxes can be selected
• a filter search function, allowing users to narrow down the checkbox options. Checkboxes will be displayed only if they match the user's input or have already been selected.

Why

• Scrollable checkbox filters are based on the GOV.UK component called ‘option select’, which is commonly used in GOV.UK search filters. Despite this component being available for development, there is not a discussion/ backlog item dedicated to this (to my knowledge).
• In internal caseworking products, where data heavy datasets/ tables are used, filters are regulary required to narrow down data sets and navigate to certain data elements.
• It would be good to know if there is a case for this to be in the HO design system.
