First off, I don't know if integrating JMC in this way is even an intended supported use case or if the tooling is only supposed to be used in a standalone way. But the (slightly outdated) tutorial linked on the official download site makes it seem that way.

Using a fresh installation of the "Eclipse 2024-06 IDE for Java Developers" on Windows 10 and then installing JMC 9.0.0 from the update site in its release artifacts causes the following issues:

  • Eclipse no longer shows its own icon in the title bar and instead defaults to the OS's default substitute icon.
  • The "About" dialog is missing the splash screen image and any text indicating the current Eclipse version.
  • The IDE log contains several error messages abount BundleExceptions not being able to resolve the JMC modules. (See attached error.log file)

Thanks for the issue report, I've gone and opened a bug for this on the JMC jira: https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JMC-8239

This doesn't look to be an Adoptium-related issue, but rather something that should be handled upstream.
