Issue: Currently non-logged in users can't make lenses and there isn't any other reader facing advanced search or filtering feature. We have a work in progress that is a collection of essays that relate to musical compositions. Each essay has lot of metadata that the audience would want to search against (domain specific numbering systems, the liturgical calendar, geographical information). The author is trying to anticipate many of these and using various features to essentially create finding aids for the material. However, the ideal tool would really be an advanced search.
Proposed feature: Implement a lens interface as advanced search. It is a really great feature and I think public readers would gain a lot from being able to sort and visualize a book's contents on-the-fly.

@alexdryden Thanks for this — it's helpful feedback, especially in the context of some recent discussions around improving search that are going on as part of a current grant.
