Something Digitones do that is very helpful is lock ratios to simple ratios. These are mostly single-digit ratios (1:2, 2:3, 3:5 etc) but the integer relationship puts modulators close to something musical. So it's much easier to turn the knobs and avoid a lot of garbage noise that FM is prone to. I've seen people now mention wanting to know how to do FM synthesis so I recommended Dexed but had to explain this method to them.
Having an option to enable the ratio locking in some way would make Dexed more approachable.
