as one of the main goals of going local is privacy, I suggest to integrate Perplexica, that is useful as both a UI tool and as an API server compatible with Perplexity.
Perplexica can search using Tavili and SearXNG, the latter is fully local and privacy-oriented, useful as a user WEB search landing page like (a better) google.com , and also as a private search API server.
I get good results also from Morphic https://www.morphic.sh/ that can be installed locally, but I wasn't able to find the "magic recipe" to configure the local instance so it gives search results similar to the (still free) cloud service.
Keep this project going forward, as IMO it gives the most useful everyday tools without messing with compatibility interactions.
