how to deal with mdx?

currently, I'm using gfm to parse md file for my blog. is it possible to migrate to mdx? I'm stuck after compiling. can I import interactive components from islands and does it just works?

My plan is to compile mdx file with noninteractive components as usual. the whole mdx was converted to HTML with no runtime.
And in some posts, a couple of components that need interactivity were imported from islands, each downloading its own js.
