mt32-pi ess1869 "unexp. midi status" randomly displayed

Im unsure if this would a mt32-pi issue but i just want to check.

So if i use a roland um-one with dosbox and start monkey island every thing work fine.

If i run monkey island from my pc build with ess1869f chip the display randomly shows "unexp. midi status" the sound do get played "ok", few times a note can be stuck and will still be stuck even if i close down monkey island until i start something els.

monkey island 2 runs without any problems at all.

Flowing info does appear in a second on then display when runing dosbox "7|Special|BottleBlow" but when runing on the pc it first show at the top "unexp. midi status" and below "1|Piano |Honkytonk" unsure if this is is helpful.

I am running same copy on both sides.

What specification is the PC build?

Monkey Island 1 is known to have issues when the machine is "too fast"; it's an old game and makes assumptions about timings.

It suggests either using a patch, or using a tool like SetMul to disable the L1 cache, depending on which version of the game you are trying to play.

I dont think i was awake last night but it might be a issue because i am testing with a industrial pc that runs a cyrix mediagx which does not seem to be that great for few old dos games, sadly SetMul dont work on that cpu, so i will do some more research and see what i can find.
