Problem with CJMCU-5102 DAC

Hi,
I'm using Chris-jh mt32-pi-midi-hat. I'm using the CJMCU-5102 DAC and can't get the sound to work. I think I have to tell the mt32 the correct I2C adress but I can't figure out which one is the needed one.
i2c detect doesn't help because it only finds the oled display on 3c.
Any tips? I don't want to desolder the DAC if I don't have to.... :-(

You do not need to set any I2C-related stuff for this DAC, it is not an "intelligent" DAC with software control, so ignore those settings.

The only setting you need to change to enable it is output_device = i2s.
That is i2s, NOT i2c - don't make this common typo.

Check the board's soldering and your soldering. Else, the DAC module could simply be faulty.

I tried without those settings, still no sound. i2s is correct. The module doesn't have the solderpads. My soldering is alright. I measured continuity for all pins, everything seems fine. The dac recieves power , the led is lit.
I used the dac with an esp32 project, so I know it's working.
As far as I can see it's the same dac chris has in his screenshots, so I rellay don't know where else to look.

Then I have no further suggestions, sorry. Try asking the creator of that hardware.
