Currently repo similarity calculation is quite naive, and is in need of improvement.
Right now it uses sentence_transformers with the all-MiniLM-L6-v2 model to calculate a similarity score based only on the repo description and repo tags. This is then thresholded to find "similar" repos. I plan to extend this to use the whole README text for a repo which should make it more accurate.
In this case you'll notice the repo descriptions have some terms in common with the pyautogui description which is what it's picked up on. The README fix planned should improve similarity to be better.
pyautogui: A cross-platform GUI automation Python module for human beings. Used to programmatically control the mouse & keyboard
pexpect: A Python module for controlling interactive programs in a pseudo-terminal
beeware: A Python native, OS native GUI toolkit
pysimplegui: Python GUIs for Humans! PySimpleGUI is the top-rated Python application development environment. Launched in 2018 and actively developed, maintained, and supported in 2024. Transforms tkinter, Qt, WxPython, and Remi into a simple, intuitive, and fun experience for both hobbyists and expert users
Thanks again for the feedback. Hopefully this will be improved over the next month or so.
