I have a 30-slot panel so I had to buy two Vues to get individual readings on all of the breakers. That being said I am currently only running the 200amp CT clamps (connected to Phase A/B) on one of the meters and I've commented out a few of the unused 50amp circuits. 1.) Do I need to connect and calibrate the 200amp CT clamps for both Vue or can I get away with one set? 2.) If I only need one set of 200amp CTs is there any part of the phase code on the secondary Vue that I could comment out to avoid creating readings for the 200amp CTs that weren't actually connected?

One set is fine.
Yup, the big clamps are configured the same way as the small clamps. Just delete/comment the entries:
As well as any reference to those entries in the file (i.e. "Total Power", etc). |

I am going to post this here for anyone else that comes along looking to run a similar configuration. Setup: emporiavue1 (main module w/ 200amp CT clamps connected) Notes: 1. This is my specific breaker configuration so expect to tailor your breaker circuit settings as you would typically be expected to during setup. 2. I had to adjust the phase voltage calibration values independently for both Vue modules (based on multimeter verification of my leg voltages while I had the logs running for both modules on my computer). The closest I was able to get was 0.1v (~0.08%) variance between the two modules which from a practical standpoint is more than close enough for me. If you don't know how to check the voltages of your panel and individual phase/legs with a multimeter you can watch this emporiavue1 (sensor code section)
emporiavue2 (sensor code section)

@Aston77 I've got a similar setup to yours except that my main panel has 36 circuits to monitor. Any possibility you're in the US and you're looking to get rid of the 200 amp sensors you did not use? I could complete my system with them. (16(50a) +16(50a) + 4 (200A) + 2(200A mains)) |

I'm trying to do this exact thing - two Vue2 units with one with mains CTs and one without. When I try to comment out the same items listed here, I get this error:

Thank you! I didn't follow my own advice from the instructions I wrote yesterday... clearing the build cache allowed it to build finally. Now on to figure out why some of the sensors are not reading any data (when they were back with the old firmware).... Thanks again! |
