Same issue for me. Any clue ? |
same here. how to solve? |
It seems that the useragent is being rejected or something like that by the server. Tried changing the useragent in the code for Chrome's one but didn't help. https://trac.opensubtitles.org/projects/opensubtitles/wiki/XMLRPC |
Just register on https://www.opensubtitles.org and provide your username and password for the addon in the Show config menu. |
yep, signed in, problem solved / |
Thanks for sharing @elmerenges, even applying the credentials (I did not have them before, I still get 401 Unauthorized.
@Trisky trying to access to wiki's address I get a 503, is it working for you the link? I would like to try with Postman the Same Request and get more info from there :) |
@dominguezcelada Sure thing trying the same request with postman would help debug the issue. |
@Trisky Yes! Now https://trac.opensubtitles.org/projects/opensubtitles/wiki/XMLRPC link is working. Still getting 401. I will try to take a look this afternoon (Barcelona, Spain timezone) and give it a try with Postman. I will try to post whatever I find 💪 |
Also, I found this post on opensubtitles forum. Let's see if it's something on their end: |
In case it's not obvious: you also must confirm your email address via the link in the OpenSubtitles.org Account Confirmation email. Works for me. |
That's an important point @quinncomendant! But in my case, yes, I confirmed my account through the activation link. Thanks for the point because it could be the reason for somebody having problems. |
I tried it today and it's working to me too! 🥳 🍾 🎉 What is mandatory for sure is to have set up the user and password for the configuration. Here you can find more details. Thanks @quinncomendant, @Trisky and everybody for helping and assisting here! |
i have the same error. any other idea/fix? |

@comesta I'm assuming you entered your @comesta @koullis22 One idea that comes to my mind is to assure the user and password you are introducing on Also, make sure you have the latest vlsub and VLC versions |
I am using Mac, and when I click on Show Config, the VLSub popup just disappears and nothing happens. If I try to open VLSub again, VLC crashes. Does anyone have a solution for Mac? |

I don't see this version on vlsub releases. The one I'm
|
To me happens randomly sometimes, but I don't think is the same bug as the one we are talking about. Maybe you should open a new issue or find an existing one with this issue? :) |
Mmm... not sure. I think this extension is independent from VLC releases. In my case I had |
just added 10.2 also but no success again..even changed password.still get the same error. 0.11 file is named "VLSub.luac" |
Where are you downloading the versions from? If you download it from here. The file is |
Try from here: |
Nice source @elmerenges ! Seems that there is a more up to date version and there has been recent activity! I'm going to install it that one :) |
Just FYI, 0.11.1 not working for me (MacOS + VLC)... (the Extension does not pop up when trying to open). |
