Disable animation feature

It would be great if there were an option to disable animations in version 3.0. Are there any plans to add an option to deactivate the animation feature?

Hey @happyjem, why not use a simple overlay in that case though? In any case, unfortunately we don't have the resources for open source right now, but you are most welcome to open a PR. Have a nice day
