About Me

Hello! I'm a Professor at the Military Institute of Engineering (IME) with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in Remote Sensing. My academic and professional journey has revolved around exploring innovative solutions to complex geospatial challenges, particularly those involving environmental monitoring and deforestation detection.

Research Interests

  • Artificial Intelligence in Remote Sensing:
    • Deep Learning and Machine Learning for geospatial analysis.
    • SAR and Optical data fusion.
  • Geoinformation Extraction:
    • Detection, prediction, and monitoring of environmental changes.
  • Defense Applications:
    • GIS and geoinformatics for defense and strategic planning.
  • Project-Based Learning in Engineering Education.

Academic Background

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering (Pontifícia Universidade Católica, Rio de Janeiro, 2024): Focus on Computer Vision for Remote Sensing.
  • Master's in Defense Engineering (IME, 2012): Focus on Satellite Positioning.
  • Cartographic Engineering (IME, 2006).
