Also, this happens with PNGs, I tried with a pdf and it doesn't show the error, instead it does create the file in /downloads but with zero bytes trying to download it indefinitely |

Same here, transferring from a Pixel 6 to a Macbook. It seems like I get the error banner with some files but not others. For others, I get the error that @curliq mentions, where it creates a zero byte file that is eventually removed from the Downloads folder. It's not based on file extension (some .jpg files give me the banner, others give me a zero byte file).

NearDrop is easily discoverable, but users encounter an issue after accepting an incoming file where the file fails to be received, displaying the following error:
