NearDrop not working on Sequoia Developer Beta #175
Comments
In my case transfer works from Android to macOS but not vice versa. Also A14 and macOS Sequoia Developer Beta 6 |
nothing happens on the mac side |
Same here on Sequoia 14.1 dev beta and A13 Samsung. |
With Bluetooth enabled on Mac (and WiFi disabled), I see an incoming file notification on Mac, but the file does not appear in When I enable WiFi on Mac, I no longer get the incoming file notification, and the Mac does not appear in the QuickShare transfer dialog on Android. However, native Bluetooth share from Android to Mac works correctly. Sharing from Mac to Android also works correctly, but Android sometimes changes the "Who can share" setting back to "Your devices", which is a bit of a nuisance. (It might have occurred after a reboot.)
update: I finally got it to work by disabling my desktop firewall, but the Mac was not visible on Android until I restarted NearDrop. ⭐️ It would be helpful to know what firewall bypass rules NearDrop needs to function properly. |
