GetDevInfo (2.0.0):

  • Backwards-incompatible changes sinse v1.1.1:

  • Bytestrings are no longer used for the BootRecord and BootRecordStrings values, in favour of unicode strings.

  • GetDevInfo must now be called with python3 -m getdevinfo.

  • Error logging has been improved. When run imported as a Python module, errors are logged to /tmp/getdevinfo.errors now, so they can be debugged and handled better.

  • The API documentation is now licensed under as GFDLv1.3+, instead of being GPLv3+.

  • Python 3.10 is now officially supported.

  • Other changes:

  • Avoid unnecessary use of shell=True on macOS.

  • Clean up of macOS code.

  • Clean up of Cygwin code.

  • Ignore loop, zram, and nbd devices on Linux.
