R2 needs AWS Signature Version 4, which was not implemented in the SimpleS3 module. While I appreciate having a simple module that just implements what we need from AWS, I felt it was better overall to dogfood the ecosystem's premier AWS library.

If the repo is active or in use, I think it would be good to recombine this repo with the 'new' commercialhaskell/hackage-mirror-tool.
