Spelling corrector bug

The spelling corrector shows me the misspelled words, but doesn't let me select one, as it does in other apps. For example here when I click on 'Différemment' it is unresponsive, nothing happens. The normal behavior would be that when I click on the word, it replaces the misspelled word in my text.

It would be easier to simply remove the spellchecking all together, so there would be no red lines.
Is this an acceptable fix? Or do you want spellchecking?

I'm bad with spelling words, and usually find it important to get the spelling right.
that said I didn't have spelling on the previous app I was using for journaling, so it won't be a deal-breaker.
So it's hard to fix, right?

Also, the first word of a sentence is not capitalized. I wonder if this is related to the fact that spell correction is inactive.
