Currently, BirdNET Analyzer GUI only uses 3-second segments as the input for training the model. If it is longer than 3 seconds, it takes the middle 3 seconds of the clip. If shorter than 3 seconds, it pads the clip.
It would be very helpful if BirdNET could split clips > 3 seconds into consecutive 3-second clips. Many species produce vocalizations that are > 3 seconds long, and people annotating these clips produce longer selections. Having BirdNET process these longer clips automatically would be tremendously helpful, and lead to better training data and therefore better models.
In making these successive 3-second segments, potentially we could also specify an overlap % between clips. Thanks!
