Seeking slightly different tool - wondering if exists?

First, kudos to DDSP's creators. Amazing tech, and I'm sure it's inspiring many.

Here's an application I imagine and is very similar to what DDSP does, but it trains a specific voice to a specific instrument as follows:

• Gather samples of an instrument (maybe a lead guitar or solo trumpet) playing melodies, including phrasing, expression, etc.
• Record a voice mimicking those samples. Bobby McFerron or (especially) Michael Winslow (Larvel Jones in Police Academy) would do an amazing job at this, but a good amateur vocalist could do pretty well also.
• Train the tool using the two sets of samples.
• Now turn it around... The vocalist sounds their own melody, phrasing, etc. with the intention of it sounding like the sampled instrument.
• And the application synthesizes sounds made by the originally sampled instrument

It would not have to be voice to instrument... probably MORE likely that instrumentalists would use an application like this to develop more (alternative instrument) sounds for themselves
