We have create but not delete. We should also expire old ones

I just checked the spec and synapse filter store, there still does not seem to be filter expiration dates or another form of cleanup.
(We work around missing matrix-org/matrix-spec-proposals#1840 filter support by creating new filters that only contain the rooms of the type in question)

Indeed. Someone should write an MSC.
