When trying to boot MediaCat on a modern computer with BIOS secure boot enabled, the following error happens:
Verifying shim SBAT data failed: Security Policy Violation
Something has gone seriously wrong: SBAT self-check failed: Security Policy Violation
In researching that message, it seems like some steps need be take to maybe base this on a newer OS image and/or updated boot (MBR, EFI, etc) configuration. That said, it might be completely unrelated to the issue with MediaCat generating this error.

While it is a different product, users were getting the same error on boot. One fix is discussed here:
