Bug description

Hi,

I'm using the Linux AppImage 4.2.1 for engraving Taiko percussion music, and found the "Tablas" preconfigured instrument to be almost what I needed for that. I just added two more notes with cross-heads (and shortcuts) to the drumkit, and it's just what I need.

So, since the piece has multiple of these custom "Tablas", I figured that I should just save the customized drumkit to reuse it in the other voices. Said, done. But when I try to load it back, it won't show up!

I noticed that there were some "glitches" around that save dialog:

  • It is pointing to my Documents/MuseScore folder, with the default name to save as being "Styles" which is a folder there.
  • It is saying, that it will save as a "MuseScore drumset file", but the file it creates has no file extension

The second point was also the solution:
I looked up the file extension online (since it isn't displayed in the UI), and renamed my kit to "TaikoTablas.drm". Now it is showing up in the load dialogue (where I also could not choose to open anything else than "MuseScore drumset file").

Steps to reproduce

  1. create a new score [using an unpitched percussion instrument]
  2. place a note, so the "Edit drumset" shows up in the lower left corner.
  3. Click that to open the "Edit drumset" dialogue
  4. Click "Save as..."
  5. (I notice here the "Styles" default name, that is a Folder in my MuseScore Docs folder)
  6. Choose any name and then "Save"
  7. Back in the "Edit drumset" dialogue, click "Load..."
  8. (I notice here that my drumset is not listed (filtered out)
  9. Retry the "Save as..." action and end the name to save in ".drm"
  10. Now the file is found (and worked for me)
