How do I add and test a new page to the documentation?

I will be adding a new page under How-to guides > Reporters for a new reporter. I can see where I need to add the new *.md file but it's unclear how I add this page to the web site menu or test that it shows up and that I haven't broken any navigation links. Is there a separate repo that needs to cloned to test these source docs?
