I have a feeling that doing this might make it easier to log problems and improve security. We should experiment with handling submissions on the server and returning the barest information possible to the Join Form app.

I think such a change would require heavy modifications to the join form. I don't know what the right answer is, but what is there today is quite... cumbersome.
