It is because the line
IDI_ICON1 ICON DISCARDABLE "resources\PluginName.ico"
in "PluginName.rc"
I'm guessing the \T gets treated as an escape character or something.
Changing it to /T works. for example:
IDI_ICON1 ICON DISCARDABLE "resources/PluginName.ico"
