Hi, I'm adding my backlog of benches in. The UK ones have gone fine. I'm trying now to add one I found in Australia.

1/ If I try to drag and drop the photo from Photos (the same way I did the UK ones), the site errors saying there is no GPS data in the photo - there is. Lat 35° 2' 34.54" S Long 150° 40' 35.832" E

2/ If I export from Photos and upload, the photo is displayed OK but the text box doesn't fill with text (and the text ios very clear), and also doesn't allow me to enter any text - it's like the text box is read-only. I'll try tp attach the photo...

That's uploaded as a PNG. Could you please email me the original photo and I'll see what's going on. Contact details on https://edent.tel/

If I convert that PNG to a JPG, and preserve the EXIF tags, it works.

exiftool -tagsfromfile in.png -all:all out.jpg

OpenBenches only works with JPG. I've no idea why Apple Photos is exporting it as a PNG. Very strange!

Ah.. I exported as PNG because the HEIC is pretty big. Will email the unmodified original.

You'll need to convert to JPG. We can't support HEIC. See #190

Suggestion to disallow PNG as an upload format if it's not properly accepted - the PNG is the upload described in 2/. The HEIC upload hung completely so I though HEIC wasn't accepted..

That's the weird thing. The file picker is set to only allow JPG or camera input. So I've no idea how you were able to get a PNG on there 😄

OK.. so using the same phone, same settings, same Photos, same drag and drop from the same browser.. the UK photos workm the AU one doesn't. I don't get it. Unless the drag process from Photos is auto-converting to JPEG for the UK ones but PNG for the AU one for an odd reason?

I'll just convert to JPEG and move on I reckon :)

(Same phone for taking the photos - all uploads via macOS).

For me the file picker isn't restricting file types at all, allows selection of PDFs, GPX files etc.
