How can I sum the dose of each slice ?

Hi !

I'm a new user of Pydicom and I have a question:
How can I sum the dose in each slice ? I have some RT doses DICOM files, and for each slice of each file, I need to have the total dose of the slice, but I haven't found any examples.... Can you help me ?

Have a look at the DoseGrid class in dicompyler-core, ported over from DVH-Analytics, which may also be of interest if you don't need to do the sums within your own code, or to model your code on.

Also you can just do:

from pydicom import dcmread

ds = dcmread('rtdose.dcm')
for slice in ds.pixel_array:
    print(slice.sum())

I was thinking the OP meant for each (CT, probably) slice, summing the corresponding dose slices from the dose files. Perhaps OP can clarify.
