The Wikidata page for the brand is probably the best value for the tag. My reference point for this view are the various gas/petrol station brands that use the name of a former oil company (Mobil, Conoco, etc.), which mostly link to a page for the brand instead of either the former oil company or the company that now owns the brand. Turning this back to Ford, linking to the brand instead of the company has the benefit of keeping the Wikidata ID stable if (in the unlikely case) the connection between the Ford brand and the Ford Motor Company is severed in the future.
What should the wikidata be for Ford (shop/car)?
At the moment it is Q44294 but this does not include the subsidiary companies, such as Ford Argentina: Q1436915.
So maybe we split into entities for each country with its own local company?
Alternatively, there is Q20827633 for the Ford car brand.
Each of these have their various positives and drawbacks.
