There needs to be a clear indication as to what versions of Android still have the power button shield available.
Either that or a clear indication if this is now only a paid feature or not.
There can be no ambiguity with regard to whether this feature is still extant or if it is paywalled.
In addition, some indication or popup let those know when installing or setting up that their version of Android doesn't support that feature.
This feature is in all honesty the core feature that formerly made prey actually effective at all as a theft prevention device as
-once the device is powered off all of the subsequent features are rendered entirely and utterly useless-
. failing to remedy this or repair this issue while also failing to indicate that this feature is no longer available is deceptive and despite what this company may intend to falsely claim ignorance to so as to maintain plausible deniability while trying to maintain their user base and further downloads which would surely plummet if people were informed of the fact that this main component is now missing before downloading is unconscionable.
Update the documentation and the Play Store page with a clear indication of what Android versions still have the feature and which don't.
Removing a feature and failing to notify people while leaving documentation referring to it is the same as lying about having it in the first place.
Fix this. NOW.
I will continue to submit this as an issue until it is updated.
