OS Compatibility and Performance
Nostlan is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. I use Manjaro (Arch) to build Nostlan for Linux, the AppImage works on any distro though. Notably Nostlan is available for new ARM chip Macs. I do not plan on ever adding 32bit support since many current gaming consoles are 64bit. In the future I'd like to make ARM 64bit AppImage builds for the Raspberry Pi.
Nostlan should preform well even on low-end systems. I've tested Nostlan on my 2016 Macbook with a 1.1GHz CPU with onboard Intel HD 515 graphics and it runs at 2304x1440 just fine. As of v1.10.x image thumbnailing was added. This made scrolling and animations a lot faster.
The storage requirements of Nostlan can be pretty high depending on the size of your game libraries. High quality, high resolution images require more storage than you might expect. My MAME full set game library's image folder is 13GB!
Warning! If you pay for internet by bandwidth be aware that for large game libraries Nostlan will download a lot of image files and this will take a lot of bandwidth.
