IMO this package is a prime example of one that we should build with a zero prefix. That way we ensure that we will be able to transition to a upstream package once one becomes available.

On OBS the zero-prefixing needs to happen on a ProjectConfig as follows:

Release: 0.<CI_CNT>.<B_CNT>

For this to not disrupt other packages in the misc repo, I would recommend moving the package to its own repository. I also recommend maybe bundling the new repo into the misc channel on our internal infrastructure to make it available like it was part of misc nevertheless.
